The Public Safety Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating essential service, developing policies and initiatives, community relations, and public safety strategies.
Main Duties
- Assist the CAO and Council on advancing our police initiative on community based policing.
- Interact directly with current police service provider (RCMP).
- Work with CAO and Fire Chiefs on identifying and implementing improvements within the District of Carleton North fire service.
- Monitor the District of Carleton North EMO Plan.
- Work with the Province on advancing community emergency centers (cooling/warming).
- Monitor and enforce animal control measures for the District of Carleton North.
- Develop new strategies on solid waste collection and disposal.
Qualifications
- Specialized training or certification in public safety, emergency management, or related areas.
- Experience in police services, fire services, emergency measures, animal control, bylaw enforcement, or solid waste management.
- Standard First Aid and CPR Certification an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
