We are partnering with a fast-growing, London-based premium convenience retail business to appoint a high-calibre Finance Manager. Founded in 2020, the company operates in a dynamic, high-growth environment and is redefining how customers access everyday essentials through technology-led fulfilment and strong brand partnerships. This is a pivotal role within the finance function, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to take real ownership, influence decision-making, and play a meaningful part in shaping the business’s financial strategy as it continues to scale.
The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure robust financial controls, and deliver high-quality reporting and insight to senior stakeholders. The role will lead the finance team’s operational activity, including direct responsibility for the Accounts Payable function, and will act as a key business partner across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Leading the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
- Producing insightful variance analysis, clearly explaining performance against prior periods, budgets, and forecasts
- Managing overseas entities and the group consolidation process, delivering monthly consolidated financial statements for investor reporting
- Providing commercial and financial analysis to support strategic decisions, cost optimisation, and margin improvement
- Owning statutory processes, including the annual audit, tax filings, and VAT returns, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Designing, implementing, and monitoring financial controls, policies, and procedures to support a growing business
- Managing, mentoring, and developing the finance team, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Supporting strategic planning, investment decisions, and growth initiatives with robust financial insight and risk assessment
- Driving system and process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting quality
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience
- Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP and IFRS, with a solid understanding of UK tax requirements
- Proven experience in a similar finance leadership role, ideally within retail, e-commerce, or technology-driven businesses
- Experience in start-up or scale-up environments highly advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve complex, data-led financial processes
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator, able to translate financial information for non-financial stakeholders
- Experience with modern finance systems (Xero experience beneficial)
- High attention to detail, integrity, and resilience in a fast-paced environment
