Children's SW - Safeguarding Team - Worcestershire

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Safeguarding Team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and partner agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children in our community. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of effective safeguarding plans, promoting positive outcomes for children and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting thorough assessments of children's needs and risks.
• Developing and implementing child protection plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency teams.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports.
• Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony when required.
• Engaging with children and families to promote their involvement in decision‑making processes.
• Providing support and guidance to less experienced team members and students.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

• A recognised social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with families.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and demonstrate critical thinking in decision‑making.
