Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Safeguarding Team. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk, conducting assessments, and implementing effective intervention strategies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing child protection plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records in compliance with local policies and procedures.
- Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
- Participating in court proceedings and contributing to reports as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Hold a recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
- Be registered with Social Work England.
- Demonstrate substantial experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Show a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
