Social Worker | Assessment & Intervention / Court Team | Torbay Council | Up to £45ph + Accommodation Allowance Torbay Council is currently recruiting experienced Children's Social Workers to join its Assessment & Intervention Team and Court Team. These are long-term agency opportunities within a local authority that has recently achieved a GOOD Ofsted rating, offering supportive management, regular supervision and genuine opportunities for progression into permanent positions. Current Opportunities Assessment & Intervention Social Worker Up to £42 per hourCourt Team Social Worker Up to £45 per hour What's on Offer? 37 hours per week Long-term contracts Accommodation allowance of £150 per week available until the end of December 2026 Career development opportunities and potential pathways into permanent roles Fortnightly supervision within some teams Supportive management structure Recently rated GOOD by Ofsted Accommodation options available locally if required Working Arrangements Hybrid working available Office attendance expected up to 3 days per week During duty weeks, full office attendance is required Duty rota operates on a 1 week in every 3 weeks basis Social Workers must remain available to respond to crisis situations and Section 47 enquiries when working remotely Candidates must be able to travel throughout Torbay and occasionally out of county for visits to children placed outside the area Caseloads Social Workers can expect caseloads of approximately 20-24 cases, including a mixture of: Child in Need (CIN) Child Protection (CP) Assessments Complex safeguarding work Court proceedings (Court Team) To submit a candidate, a completed cover sheet and up-to-date CV will be required.
