Child In Need Social Worker - Devon

Caritas Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for experienced Agency Social Workers to join a dedicated Child in Need (CIN) Only Team within Devon Children's Services. This is a rare opportunity to focus exclusively on Child in Need work, allowing practitioners to build meaningful relationships with children, young people and families without responsibility for Child Protection plans, care proceedings or Children Looked After cases. The service is committed to delivering restorative, relationship-based practice and creating sustainable change for families through early intervention and support.

About the Role

  • Hold a caseload focused exclusively on children supported under Child in Need plans
  • Implement family-led, outcome-focused interventions following assessment
  • Work directly with children, young people and families to improve safety, wellbeing and stability
  • Deliver high-quality assessments, planning and recording
  • Promote strengths-based and restorative practice
  • Support families to achieve positive and lasting change through relationship-based social work

Where a child's circumstances escalates and require Child Protection or care planning involvement, transitions will be managed carefully alongside colleagues, allowing you to maintain your focus on Child in Need work.

Working Arrangements

Location: Taw View, Barnstaple, North Devon

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements available

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Experience within Children's Social Care
  • Strong assessment, planning and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a restorative and strengths-based framework
  • Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families

Pay & Benefits
