Join our dedicated UASC Team in Shropshire as a Senior Practitioner and make a meaningful impact on the lives of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC). This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in social work while earning £38 per hour (umbrella). As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of vulnerable children, guiding them through complex challenges and advocating for their best interests.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of UASC and developing tailored care plans.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and other team members.
- Collaborating with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure holistic support for UASC.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience working with UASC or in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
