We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Looked After Children Team in Shropshire. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to looked after children. This position offers a competitive rate of £38 per hour, and you will be working within a supportive and dynamic environment.
As a Senior Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert guidance and support to social workers in case management and decision-making processes.
- Carrying out assessments, developing care plans, and ensuring effective implementation of services.
- Building strong relationships with children, families, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes.
- Leading team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with local authority policies and statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience working with looked after children and their families.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
