Join our dedicated Fostering Team in Shropshire as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. You will work closely with foster families, children, and other professionals to promote stability and well-being in fostering placements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers to ensure suitability and readiness for fostering.
- Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster families, ensuring adherence to fostering standards and regulations.
- Working collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners to develop and implement care plans.
- Conducting regular visits and reviews to monitor the welfare and development of children in foster care.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in child protection and fostering, with a strong understanding of the relevant legislation and policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
