Overview

Join our dedicated Children's SP - LAC Team in Shropshire as a Qualified Social Worker, where you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and young people in our community.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting assessments and developing care plans to meet the individual needs of children and young people.
  • Building trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Managing a caseload effectively while ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.
  • Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after children context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess risk and make sound judgments in challenging situations.
