Caritas Recruitment is looking for two experienced Senior / Specialist Social Workers to join Southwark Council's Children & Families service.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced children's practitioners who are confident managing complex statutory caseloads and can demonstrate strong safeguarding, assessment, risk management and multi‑agency practice.
The role
- Role: Senior / Specialist Social Worker
- Service: Children & Families
- Location: Southwark, SE15
- Rate: £39.04 per hour Umbrella
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Hybrid working: 3 days office / 2 days remote
- Contract: Initial contract until March 2027
- Vacancies: 2
- Interview: Online, competency‑based
- Interview date: 10 November
What we're looking for
To be considered, you will need:
- Current Social Work England registration
- Relevant post‑qualifying experience within statutory children's social care
- Strong experience of safeguarding and managing complex cases
- Confident assessment, analysis and risk management skills
- Experience working effectively with children, families and partner agencies
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a busy statutory service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
