We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team in Croydon. The successful candidate will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and their families, ensuring that their needs are met through effective interventions and support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and develop appropriate safeguarding plans.
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated service delivery and effective support for families.
- Providing supervision and support to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with local policies and procedures.
- Representing the Family Safeguarding Team at court hearings and multi-agency meetings, advocating for the best interests of children.
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and hold current registration with Social Work England. Essential skills include:
- Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding work, with a strong understanding of legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to assess complex situations and develop effective intervention strategies.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload efficiently.
