Are you an experienced social worker with a passion for child protection? Join our dedicated Child Protection Team in Birmingham as a Senior Social Worker. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safeguarding vulnerable children and supporting families in crisis. You will work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to assess needs, develop intervention plans, and ensure the welfare of children remains paramount.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Leading case reviews and providing supervision to junior social workers.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Participating in court proceedings as required and representing the best interests of children.

To excel in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong analytical and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and families effectively.
