We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child in Care Team in Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people in care. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality support and guidance to children, families, and foster carers, ensuring the best possible outcomes for those in our care.
Key responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of children in care, conducting assessments and developing care plans.
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to promote the welfare and safeguarding of children.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development.
- Participating in court proceedings and representing the local authority in legal matters as required.
- Developing and implementing intervention strategies that are child-centered and evidence-based.
Qualifications and skills
- A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a child protection or child in care setting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
