An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced Learning Disabilities Social Workers to join a dedicated review project team in Ealing. The project is looking for Social Workers with strong Learning Disabilities experience who are confident managing a busy workload and working at a fairly fast pace. Previous review project experience is not essential, provided you have good experience working within Learning Disabilities services.

The role will include:

  • Completing Care Act assessments and reviews
  • Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments
  • Working directly with adults with Learning Disabilities, their families and relevant professionals
  • Managing a busy caseload and completing reviews efficiently
  • Travelling within the borough to complete assessments and reviews

There is very little requirement to be office-based, as the role will predominantly involve being out in the community completing reviews. Candidates will therefore need to be car drivers.

The anticipated rate is approximately £32.72 per hour for Social Workers with more than two years' experience, in line with London rates. The project is initially expected to run until the end of the 2026/27 financial year. There is then a strong possibility that the positions will be reabsorbed into the wider Learning Disabilities service, making this particularly attractive for anyone looking for the potential of a stable, longer-term locum contract.

You will need:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Strong post-qualified Learning Disabilities Social Work experience
  • Confidence completing Care Act assessments/reviews
  • Experience undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
  • A driving licence and access to a car
  • Ideally 2+ years' post-qualified experience for the stated rate

This is a great opportunity for an experienced LD Social Worker who enjoys community-based working, wants minimal office attendance and is looking for a project role with genuine potential to develop into a longer-term contract.
