This dynamic role is perfect for an experienced social worker who is ready to support children in achieving stability and permanence through kinship care and adoption. You will work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to promote the best interests of children and ensure they receive the care and support they need.
As a Children's Consultant Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and develop effective care plans.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to social work teams, ensuring best practices are followed in kinship and permanence planning.
- Facilitating training and support sessions for foster carers and kinship providers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborating with multi‑agency partners to coordinate services and resources for children and families.
- Monitoring and reviewing care plans to ensure they are meeting the needs of children and families effectively.
The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
- Current registration with the Social Work England.
- Proven experience in child protection, kinship care, or adoption services.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
