Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team. This role involves working with children, young people, and their families to assess and manage risk, provide support, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in line with statutory responsibilities and local policies. Key Responsibilities: Undertake child and family assessments in accordance with the Children Act 1989, identifying needs, risks, and strengths. Develop and implement child protection, child in need, and looked-after children plans. Work in partnership with families and a range of multi-agency professionals to reduce risk and improve outcomes. Conduct direct work with children and families to promote safeguarding and build resilience. Attend and contribute to core group meetings, case conferences, legal planning meetings, and court proceedings as required. Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and high-quality case records and reports. Comply with statutory guidance, local safeguarding procedures, and professional standards (including HCPC/SWE requirements). Participate in regular supervision, training, and continuous professional development. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker (BA / MA / DipSW or equivalent) Registered with Social Work England (SWE) Minimum of [1-2] years post-qualifying experience in children's services (ideally within safeguarding) Strong knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, and best practices related to child protection and family support Skilled in assessment, report writing, and multi-agency collaboration Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure Enhanced DBS check Desirable: Experience working within a Family Safeguarding model Familiarity with motivational interviewing and strengths-based approaches UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Completing statutory visits CIN, CP and CIC Chairing CIN and Core Group Meetings Holding case load of CIN, CP, and CIC. To include some cases that may be in PLO, or S31 Care Proceedings. Completion of Court Reports, risk assessments and parenting assessments. Attending Ct with support of Senior prac or Team manager.
