Are you a passionate and experienced social work professional looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families? We are seeking a dedicated Children's Team Manager for our Assessment and Intervention (A & I) Team in Oldham. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dynamic team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality social work services that promote the well-being and safety of children.


As the Children's Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the A & I Team, providing guidance and support to social workers in their assessments and interventions. Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Managing and supervising a team of social workers, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

  • Conducting regular performance reviews and providing ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • Collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare.

  • Leading case discussions and facilitating team meetings to promote effective communication and teamwork.

  • Monitoring case progress and outcomes, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance service delivery.


To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:



  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).

  • Registered with Social Work England.

  • Significant experience in children's social work, with a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding.

  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build effective relationships with families, colleagues, and external partners.
