In this pivotal role, you will play an essential part in safeguarding and improving the lives of vulnerable children. Your expertise will guide and mentor a team of social workers, ensuring the highest standards of practice are upheld in line with local and national legislation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and strengths.
- Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, fostering their professional development.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
- Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence when required.
The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in children’s social work, with a focus on safeguarding.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to anti-oppressive practice.
- Proficiency in using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
