Are you a Mental Health Social Worker looking for a role where your professional judgement is valued, your caseload is manageable, and your focus stays firmly on social care outcomes? The Richmond Mental Health Social Care Team is recruiting a full-time Social Worker to join a supportive and experienced team working with adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.

About the Role

You will work with adults aged 18-75, supporting them to meet their social care needs through strengths-based, person-centred practice. This is a pure social care role, separate from the clinical Community Mental Health Team, allowing you to focus on Care Act work, safeguarding, and statutory responsibilities without clinical pressures. You will hold a manageable caseload of under 20 cases, including complex work, and take part in a duty rota alongside your colleagues.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from qualified Social Workers with at least 2 years' post-qualifying experience, who are confident managing complex mental health cases and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.

  • Completing complex Mental Health Care Act assessments and reviews
  • Undertaking Mental Capacity assessments and chairing Best Interest meetings
  • Acting as an Enquiry Officer for Section 42 safeguarding enquiries

You should also have experience of:

  • Carers' assessments
  • Mental Health Tribunal Social Circumstance Reports
  • Strength-based and outcome-focused practice
  • Working on a duty caseload

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working model: Office attendance for duty days (as per rota), fortnightly mandatory team days (Tuesdays), and as required. Location based in Twickenham, easily accessible by public transport.
