About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Family Safeguarding Social Worker to join a supportive and collaborative Children's Social Care team in Richmond, North Yorkshire.
You will play a key role in safeguarding children and supporting families through strengths-based, relationship-focused practice. The service operates within statutory frameworks including the Children Act 1989 and 2004 , ensuring safe and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Working Pattern
- Flexibility reviewed based on service needs and performance
Caseload
- Manageable average caseload of 20-24 children and families
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritise cases allocated by your Team Manager
- Undertake assessments of children and families, making evidence-based recommendations
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes
- Maintain accurate case records and produce high-quality reports
- Present evidence in court where required
- Actively engage in supervision and performance reviews
- Ensure all work aligns with statutory duties and best practice standards
Partnership & Multi-Agency Working
- Promote a strong culture of interagency collaboration
- Engage effectively with statutory, voluntary and private sector partners
- Contribute to assessment, planning, and commissioning of services
- Ensure coordinated support for children and families
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years post-qualification permanentexperience (essential - DfE compliant)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS check
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in child safeguarding and statutory social work
