Role Overview
- Support children and young people affected by domestic abuse
- Provide emotional and practical support in safe, structured environments
- Help children recover from trauma and build resilience
- Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions
- Promote emotional wellbeing, stability, and confidence
- Work with families to support recovery and safeguarding
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk and needs assessments for children and young people
- Develop and implement individual support plans
- Deliver age-appropriate emotional support sessions and activities
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records
- Liaise with social workers, schools, health services, and other agencies
- Support families in accessing housing, benefits, and community services
- Advocate for children to ensure their voice is heard
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children/young people in a support, safeguarding, youth work, or domestic abuse setting
- Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain
