Leeds City Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children Looked After Social Worker to join our dynamic team.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and safety of children in care, working closely with families, foster carers, and other professionals to provide the necessary support and guidance.

- As a Children Looked After Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments and developing care plans tailored to the individual needs of children in care.
- Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Providing support and guidance to foster carers and families to promote stability and positive relationships.
- Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.
- The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
- A recognised social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working within a children’s social work setting, particularly with looked after children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
