We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Assessment and Planning (AP) - Child in Care (CIC) Team in Gateshead.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in care, providing them with the support they need to thrive.
As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and a range of professionals to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing and reviewing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other stakeholders.
- Providing direct support and intervention to children in care, promoting their emotional and social development.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local and national standards.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including education, health, and community services, to ensure holistic support for children.
- The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working with children and families in a social work context.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable populations.
