Are you an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) looking for a rewarding out-of-hours opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated AMHP to join its Emergency Duty Team (EDT), providing emergency social work support and Mental Health Act responses during the EDT twilight hours.
In this role, you'll work as part of a highly skilled team, responding to urgent situations, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments, managing safeguarding concerns, and working alongside partner agencies to ensure individuals receive timely and appropriate support outside of normal working hours.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a high-quality emergency duty and out-of-hours social work response.
- Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments in line with current legislation.
- Responding to urgent safeguarding and social care concerns.
- Working collaboratively with health professionals, emergency services and partner agencies.
- Making sound decisions in complex and high-pressure situations.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.
- Previous Emergency Duty Team (EDT) experience.
- Strong assessment, risk management and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
