About the Role

We are working with a well-regarded Local Authority seeking an experienced Family Safeguarding Social Worker to join their service in Haverfordwest. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children and families, working within a supportive, structured safeguarding framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake initial and core assessments in line with the Assessment Framework
  • Develop effective care plans and tailored support packages
  • Carry out statutory duties for children looked after
  • Manage cases involving children on Care and Support Protection Plans
  • Support children on Care and Support Plans
  • Participate in and manage care proceedings
  • Accurately input and maintain records on CareFirst
  • Work in line with Wales Safeguarding Procedures and Child Care Procedures
  • Undertake any additional tasks as required within the service

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Care Wales registration
  • Experience in children’s safeguarding and statutory work
  • Strong assessment, planning and court work experience
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
  • Knowledge of Welsh safeguarding frameworks (desirable)
