We're currently recruiting experienced Children's Social Workers to join the Private Law Team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Family Court Adviser (FCA) supporting families and ensuring the welfare of children is at the heart of every decision.
About the Role:
As a Family Court Adviser, you will be involved in Private Law proceedings where:
- Families need support to agree on safe and suitable arrangements for their children, or
- Local authorities have raised serious concerns requiring Cafcass intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and engage directly with children to capture and represent their views in court.
- Apply strong risk assessment skills and mediation techniques to make clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Advocate for outcomes that are in the best interests of the child at all times.
What We're Looking For:
- A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 3 years' post-qualified experience working with children and families.
- Previous involvement in Family Court proceedings and a good understanding of Private Law is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
