Pay Rate: Up to £42 per hour (depending on experience)

Working Pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Allowance: £150 per week accommodation/commuter allowance (subject to eligibility)

About the Role

We are recruiting an Advanced Social Worker for the Children's Front Door Team (formerly MASH) in Exeter. This is a key position at the heart of safeguarding, offering the opportunity to influence decision‑making, lead practice and support effective multi‑agency working to protect children and families. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner looking to step into a leadership‑focused position within a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Team Managers to maintain high standards of safeguarding practice
  • Lead the Front Door function, supporting decision‑making and ensuring timely interventions
  • Triage and assess incoming contacts using the Level of Need Tool
  • Allocate work and sign off contacts daily
  • Provide guidance and oversight to Early Help Connectors
  • Act as a key point of communication with multi‑agency partners and stakeholders

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years' permanent post‑qualifying experience (PQE) in children's social work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Ability to work 3 days per week in the office
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and confident decision‑making skills
