The City of Doncaster Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection team on a permanent fixed-term contract.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop intervention plans, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality support to families in need.
Key responsibilities include
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing effective child protection plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and professionals.
