Join our dedicated Safeguarding Team in Middlesbrough as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families. We are looking for passionate and committed individuals who are driven by the desire to protect and support children at risk. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, develop care plans, and ensure the safety and well-being of children within the community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing child protection plans in partnership with families and other agencies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to‑date case records in accordance with local authority policies.
- Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive outcomes for children.
- Attending and participating in relevant meetings, including child protection conferences and court hearings.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Proven experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families, and professionals.
