The London Borough of Croydon is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker (SSW) to join our Safeguarding Team. This pivotal role involves working with children and families to ensure their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes. Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Conducting assessments of children's needs and risks to develop effective intervention plans.
- Working collaboratively with families, schools, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
- Managing a caseload of children and families, providing ongoing support and monitoring progress.
- Preparing and presenting reports for court proceedings and child protection conferences.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding policies and practices.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children and families in a safeguarding context.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with families.
