The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Social Worker (SSW) to join our Assessment Team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well‑being of children and families in our community. As a Children’s SSW, you will conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide support to children and their families in accordance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support.
  • Developing and implementing intervention plans tailored to individual family needs.
  • Collaborating with multi‑agency partners to ensure comprehensive support for children.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in line with local and national standards.
  • Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
