Agency Family Court Advisor - Private & Public Law (FCA) - Chelmsford or Norwich

Flexible working with in person family meetings and court attendance.

Caritas Recruitment is working in partnership with Cafcass to recruit 2 Agency Family Court Advisers (FCA) on a temporary basis, supporting services across Essex and Norfolk/Suffolk.

  • Location: 1 post covering Essex – Office base Chelmsford, 1 post covering Norfolk/Suffolk – Office base Norwich
  • Pay Rate: £36 per hour (standard supply rate only)
  • Contract: Temporary
  • Hours: 37 hours per week

The Role

As an Agency FCA, you will work with children and families involved in private law proceedings, providing high-quality analysis and recommendations to the Family Court. You will:

  • Undertake safeguarding work and child-focused assessments
  • Engage directly with children, ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings inform all recommendations
  • Produce clear, analytical court reports
  • Work collaboratively with parents, local authorities and partner agencies
  • Contribute professional expertise to court processes

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Registered with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months via the submitting agency
  • Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years post‑qualifying experience
