Agency Family Court Advisor - Bournemouth/Portsmouth

Caritas Recruitment is supporting CAFCASS in recruiting three Locum Family Court Advisors to join the Bournemouth or Portsmouth office, covering Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to vital private law work in the family courts. This is a full-time temporary role (37 hours per week), working on a task/project basis, with hybrid expectations including court attendance and monthly in-person team meetings.
Role Overview
As an Agency Family Court Advisor, you will provide high-quality case analysis and clear recommendations to the family courts for children, parents, and families involved in private law proceedings. You will ensure that children's voices are heard and their safety remains paramount throughout proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce court-ready case analysis reports with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Demonstrate expertise in safeguarding, risk analysis, child engagement, planning and recording.
- Work effectively with children, parents, extended family, local authorities, and the courts.
- Provide oral evidence in court as required.
- Apply strong inter-agency working skills to support safe and appropriate outcomes for children.
Essential Criteria
- Enhanced DBS completed within the last 12 months via the submitting agency.
- Qualified Social Worker.
- Active SWE registration.
- Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience delivering high-quality reports to court.
- Confident giving oral evidence in court settings.
- Strong IT, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work proportionately and manage a demanding workload.
- Resilient, reflective, and able to work autonomously in a hybrid environment.
Pay Rate £37.75 per hour
