We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team in Birmingham. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic team, where you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, and work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in our care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support.
- Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in line with safeguarding policies.
- Providing guidance and support to junior social workers and team members.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Collaborating with external agencies, including schools, health services, and law enforcement, to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in child protection or relevant fields.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
