We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Family Help team in Northfield, Birmingham. This critical role will involve working collaboratively with families to provide support, guidance, and interventions that promote the well‑being and safety of children. You will be responsible for leading assessments, developing care plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality social work services to families in need.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior staff and students, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records in compliance with safeguarding procedures and local authority policies.
  • Participating in multi‑agency meetings and contributing to case discussions to ensure holistic support for families.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of three years’ post‑qualification experience in children and family services.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals.
