Pay Rate: Up to £38 per hour
Accommodation / Commuter Allowance: £150 per week (subject to eligibility - reviewed end of June 2026)

Working Arrangements:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
- Hybrid Working: Office & home-based (subject to service needs)
- Duty week: Office-based 5 days per week
- Non-duty week: Office-based 3 days per week
- Driving Requirement: Valid UK driving licence and access to a car (essential)
About the Role:
Seeking experienced Assessment & Intervention Social Workers to support children, young people and families across the county. This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake meaningful, relationship-based social work that delivers safety, stability and positive long-term outcomes for children. The organisation is currently working under an Ofsted Improvement Plan, therefore we are looking for robust, confident practitioners who demonstrate strong practice and can model high-quality social work to colleagues. You will be required to manage your allocations effectively, visit children as needed and remain responsive to service demands, including emergencies and Section 47 enquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing Child & Family Assessments
- Undertaking Section 47 Child Protection enquiries
- Responding to safeguarding concerns and emergencies
- Working directly with children and families to assess risk and need
- Developing and progressing outcome-focused intervention plans
- Working collaboratively within a restorative, child-centred framework
About the Teams:
To support frontline practitioners, Devon has introduced Specialist Practitioners who complete Reg 24s, Viability Assessments, Pre-birth and Parenting Assessments. This allows Assessment & Intervention Social Workers to focus on day-to-day assessments and direct work with children and families. Teams consist of Social Workers, ASYEs and Family Practitioners, supported by accessible and experienced Team Managers.
