We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dynamic team in Southwark. As an AMHP, you will play a vital role in assessing and supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring their well‑being and safeguarding their rights. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality mental health services, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote recovery and resilience within the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals under the Mental Health Act.
  • Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychologists, and medical professionals.
  • Providing crisis intervention and support to individuals and their families.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and safeguarding protocols.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Nurse with a valid AMHP qualification.
  • Proven experience in mental health services, particularly in crisis intervention.
  • Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and manage challenging situations.
