An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Adult Social Worker to join a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. You will play a key role in responding to safeguarding concerns involving adults at risk, working collaboratively with partner agencies to assess information, identify immediate risks and coordinate appropriate interventions. This is a fast-paced role requiring sound professional judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Your responsibilities will include screening and reviewing referrals, completing proportionate safeguarding enquiries, undertaking risk assessments and making informed decisions in line with relevant legislation, policy and professional standards. You will work closely with health services, the police, housing providers, care agencies and other professionals to share information appropriately and develop person-centred plans. You will ensure that adults are supported to express their wishes and desired outcomes, while taking appropriate action where there are concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation or undue influence.
Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the relevant professional regulator. Experience in adult safeguarding, assessment, statutory social work or a multi-agency environment is highly desirable. You should have a strong understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding principles and strengths-based practice, together with the ability to produce clear, accurate records and professional reports. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience, empathy and accountability, while maintaining confidentiality and promoting equality, dignity and independence. A commitment to continuous professional development and effective partnership working is essential. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping protect vulnerable adults and ensuring that safeguarding responses are timely, proportionate and focused on achieving positive outcomes.
