Join our dedicated Young People’s Team in Southampton as a Children’s Social Worker, where you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people and their families. Your expertise will help improve the lives of children in our community, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and other professionals, to create and implement effective care plans tailored to each child’s needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the needs of children and young people, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans, working closely with families and other professionals.
  • Conducting regular visits and providing ongoing support and guidance to children and their families.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with local policies and statutory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to collaborative decision-making processes.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly within a young people’s context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
