We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker specializing in Extra Familial Harm to join our dynamic team in Southwark. In this critical role, you will work with children and young people who may be at risk from external pressures, including gang involvement, exploitation, and violence. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding vulnerable individuals and ensuring their well-being within the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks associated with extra familial harm.
- Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans aimed at reducing risk and promoting protective factors.
- Collaborating with multi-agency teams, including schools, law enforcement, and healthcare providers, to provide coordinated support.
- Providing guidance and support to families, empowering them to engage in the decision-making process.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding, particularly in relation to extra familial harm.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
