Social Worker - Court Team

Caritas Recruitment is currently supporting Torbay Children's Services in the recruitment of an experienced Social Worker for their Court Team.
This is an excellent long-term locum opportunity offering a competitive rate, accommodation support, and the chance to join a local authority recently rated GOOD by Ofsted.

The Role
You will manage a caseload of approximately 20-24 children and families, undertaking complex court proceedings and safeguarding work.
The service works with children subject to:
- Child Protection Plans
- Child in Need Plans
- Care Proceedings
- Public Law Outline (PLO) processes
This is a fast-paced and supportive environment where high-quality practice is valued and professional development is encouraged.
Working Arrangements
- Office attendance required up to three days per week
- Full-time office presence required during duty weeks
- Flexible remote working available outside of duty commitments
- Must be available to respond to crisis situations and safeguarding concerns when required
- Ability to travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county is essential
Essential Requirements
In line with Department for Education agency regulations, applicants must:
- Hold Social Work England registration
- Have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience gained within an English Local Authority Children's Services team
- Not have left a permanent Children's Services social work position within the last six months from a local authority in the South West region
- Be able to attend the Torbay office each week
