Caritas Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join Croydon's Family Assessment Team.


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking local authority where relationship-based and systemic practice are at the heart of supporting children and families.


The Role


As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide practice leadership within the team while managing complex cases and supporting positive outcomes for children and families. You'll act as a role model for best practice, mentoring colleagues and contributing to high-quality assessments, interventions, and care planning.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead on complex assessments and family interventions

  • Support and develop less experienced practitioners

  • Complete high-quality reports and case recordings

  • Deliver analytical assessments and professional recommendations

  • Coordinate multi-agency planning and support

  • Promote creative, evidence-based care planning

  • Drive positive safeguarding outcomes for children and young people


About You



  • Social Work England registered

  • Qualified Social Worker

  • Significant experience within Children's Services

  • Strong assessment, safeguarding and care planning skills

  • Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities

  • Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues


Desirable:



  • Systemic Practice qualification

  • Practice Educator/Practice Teacher qualification
