Join our dedicated team in Barking & Dagenham as a Senior Social Worker within the Fostering Team, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in foster care, and supporting foster carers through effective training and guidance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and suitability for fostering.
- Developing and implementing tailored care plans that promote the welfare and development of children in foster placements.
- Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, including regular visits and training sessions.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with legislation and best practice guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess a recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You will have substantial experience in fostering or child protection, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children in care and the fostering system. Essential skills include excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable families.
