We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Kinship Care Team in Barnet. This role is pivotal in supporting children and families through the complexities of kinship care arrangements. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will lead assessments, provide expert advice, and ensure that the best interests of children are at the forefront of all decisions. You will work collaboratively with social workers, families, and external agencies to develop and implement care plans that promote stability and positive outcomes for children in kinship placements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of kinship care arrangements and identifying the needs of children and families.
- Providing supervision and support to social workers in their case management, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Leading case reviews and contributing to multi-agency meetings to develop integrated care solutions.
- Delivering training and guidance to staff on legislation, policies, and best practices related to kinship care.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational and statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in child protection or family support services, with a focus on kinship care.
- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with families and professionals.
