We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team in Birmingham. In this vital role, you will lead and support a team of social workers in the assessment and management of child protection cases, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children in our community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners.
  • Providing supervision, guidance, and support to junior staff and students.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in compliance with local authority policies.
  • Participating in child protection conferences and court proceedings as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
