We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children's Services team in Haverhill, Suffolk. In this critical role within the Child Protection/Child in Need (CP/CIN) team, you will be responsible for safeguarding vulnerable children and supporting families to ensure their well-being. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of effective intervention strategies while working collaboratively with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in collaboration with families and other stakeholders.
- Providing direct support and guidance to social work staff, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Participating in court proceedings and providing evidence as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with families and agencies.
