In this pivotal role, you will provide high-quality support and intervention for children and young people in care, ensuring their welfare and development are prioritized. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex cases, working collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners to deliver effective care plans that meet the individual needs of each child.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans.
- Providing direct support to children and their families, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
- Leading and supervising a team of social workers, offering guidance and support to enhance practice standards.
- Engaging with external partners, including health and educational services, to ensure integrated support for children.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with local authority policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience in child protection and working with children in care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff.
