Night Support Worker
Colchester | Full-Time | 4pm to 9am | 7-Day Rota | On-Site
Caritas Futures is recruiting for a Night Support Worker to join a specialist supported accommodation service in Colchester, supporting individuals affected by homelessness, domestic abuse, modern slavery, human trafficking, housing-related issues, and other complex needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in housing, homelessness, domestic abuse, hostels, supported living, mental health, substance misuse, or other vulnerable services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overnight support, welfare checks, and safeguarding intervention where required
- Deliver one-to-one support sessions tailored to individual needs
- Complete and review risk assessments and support plans
- Assist with PIP applications, benefits, housing matters, and accessing external services
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and partner agencies
- Manage referrals, appointments, case records, and shift handovers
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for residents
Requirements
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults within homelessness, housing, domestic abuse, modern slavery, trafficking, mental health, or related services
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries
- Ability to manage changing priorities and levels of need throughout a shift
- Confident working independently and responding to emergencies
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
