The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work - Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This vital role involves working with children and young people in care, ensuring their safety, welfare, and overall well-being. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial part in supporting vulnerable children and their families, helping them to navigate complex situations and achieve positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments of children's needs and risks, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children in care.
- Providing emotional support and guidance to children and their families, promoting resilience and independence.
To be considered for this role, you must possess a recognized social work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of legislation and best practices related to children in care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Experience in child protection and safeguarding, along with the ability to manage complex cases.
